The police in Bethlehem warn residents of this town and the surrounding areas to be alert in order to curb a spate of vehicle break-ins and car theft that has been experienced.
In the first incident promting this clarion call, a white Toyota Prado was stolen in the Dihlabeng Mall’s parking area on Tuesday, 18 July, with goods to the value of R45 000 inside the car.
In another incident, on Saturday (22/07), Moeketsi Vincent Makhalala (27) was arrested for breaking into a vehicle, as well as for being in possession of stolen goods.
He appeared in the Bethlehem Magistrate’s Court on Monday (24/07).
WO Mmako Mophiring, spokesperson for the Thabo Mofutsanyana district, urges residents to make sure that their vehicles are locked and to not leave any valuables in vehicles.
