On Monday (21/02) the Dihlabeng Municipality sent out a public notice to inform Bethlehem residents of the permanent closure of the Môrelig transfer station, effective from Friday (25/02).
This comes after the municipality received several complaints about the illegal dumping of waste in the area. It is a situation that has been ongoing for a long time.
The municipality requests all residents to make use of the landfill situated along the Reitz road to dump waste.
Residents are warned that it is illegal to dump waste anywhere else, and that the municipality will take strict legal action against those who break the law.
If there is any uncertainty, or if residents have queries, they can call customer care on 058-303-5765.
