In a heart-warming initiative set to foster community spirit and support local education, Pick n Pay Family Kroonstad has unveiled its Shop for Your School competition.

From 1 November to 31 January, all schools in Kroonstad will have the opportunity to compete for a remarkable prize of R50 000 in cash, alongside the opportunity for a nominated learner to have their full school fees paid for the year.

The competition is straight-forward and parents, teachers and supporters are encouraged to shop at Pick n Pay Family Kroonstad, ensuring that any purchase above R350 is documented. Participants simply need to write their school’s name on the till slip and drop it into the designated entry box at the entrance to the store. The total value of the purchases made will be calculated per school, using the till slips submitted. The school with the highest amount attributed to its entries, will be declared the winner – thereby enhancing the educational resources and opportunities available to its learners.

Most schools face financial constraints, and this initiative provides a valuable lifeline. Therefore, everyone supporting any of the schools in Kroonstad are encouraged to participate.

Stephan van der Westhuizen of Pick n Pay Family Kroonstad has expressed his excitement about the competition.

“We believe that education is a cornerstone of community development. By encouraging locals to shop at our store and supporting their schools, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of learners. We are eager to see which school will rise to the challenge.”
