The pastor and his wife from Bethlehem who went missing on Friday, August 23 have been found alive in Gauteng.
Pastor Phillip Mashudu (55) and his wife Elsie Matlou Mashudu (54) of the Revival Christian Church in Bethlehem were found unharmed on Monday evening, 26 August in Everton Gauteng. This follows after their car was found abandoned on Sunday, August 25 in Sebokeng, Vereeniging.
The police worked non-stop following up leads that gave the breakthrough. It appears that the couple who traveled from Bethlehem to Parys were hijacked between Heilbron and Sasolburg.
The suspects, four males between the ages of 31 to 41 years have been arrested for the kidnapping and hijacking of the couple.
They will appear in the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, August 29. The police are investigating the case further and more arrests are expected.
