The Moqhaka Municipality refuse team in Kroonstad received medals from the Miles of Smiles Crèche in town to show appreciation for the work they do.
On Friday, 17 November the children of the Miles of Smiles Crèche in Suidrand, Kroonstad handed over medals to each worker of the Moqhaka refuse team to show appreciation for the work they do.
The principal of the crèche, Lenor Steyn, says the token of appreciation form part of the school’s appreciation month where the school would like to give back to the people whom make a difference in the Kroonstad community. They would also like to teach the children that all jobs are important. A special thanks and credit were given to Dirk de Vos, Fezile Dabi District Municipality Health and Safety Inspector for arranging the ceremony at the Moqhaka Municipal offices in Kroonstad. The event was also attended by the MMC for Community Services Cllr. Solly Ramathibe and Solid Waste Manager Tokelo Qhena and the Delegation from Miles of Smiles Crèche.
MMC Ramathibe appreciated the recognition from the crèche and said this goes a long way in boosting the moral and dedication of the employees who dedicate most of their time diligently serving the community despite all the challenges they are confronted with on their daily operations. He urged the residents to desist from illegal dumping but rather contribute positively to maintain healthy and safe living conditions.
