Students of the Kroonstad Black Belt Academy performed well at the provincial tournament of the American Taekwondo Association South Africa, held in Pretoria in June.
They obtained 20 gold, 11 silver and 3 bronze medals in traditional sparring, traditional forms, traditional weapons, combat weapons, XMA forms and XMA weapons, team combat weapons and team sparring.
They participated in these divisions with their age categories ranging from seven to 17 years, as well as adult taekwondo. Ruan Huyser and Iwan Landman participated in the colour belt division, while Wian Kotze, Crystal Bailie, Kayla Coetzee and Burhan Coetzee showed their mettle in the black belt division.
