Kroonstad dancers jet off to Belgium

Dancers of the Dancing Stars Dance Studio in Kroonstad who have earned their national colours from South African Country and Western Dancing (SACWD) will participate in the world championships.


Dancers of the Dancing Stars Dance Studio in Kroonstad have qualified to receive their national colours from South African Country and Western Dancing (SACWD) during the 2022 South African Open in Welkom.

These dancers will participate in the world championships in Belgium from 4 to 9 July.

They will represent their teams in their respective divisions, with most of them competing in more than one division.

The dancers’ participation will be as follows:

  • Maryna Botha will take part as a youth female participant in the intermediate line dance division; will dance in the open intermediate line dance division; will compete as an ACE teen in the modern line division; and will dance in the teen section of the pattern partner division.
  • Milandri Esterhuizen will take part as a youth female in novice line dance and as a basic kids participant in modern line.
  • Tiaan Brummelkamp will dance as a crystal male in the intermediate line dance division; participate in open intermediate line dance; compete as an ACE chrome participant in modern line; and dance in the gold and silver sections of the pro-am couples division.
  • Andrea Esterhuizen will compete as a diamond female participant in novice line dance.
  • Johan Labuschagne will dance as a sapphire male participant in the stars line dance division; compete as a novice silver participant in the classic couples division; and dance in the adult section of the pro-am couples division.
  • Luzandri Adamson will take part as an adult female participant in novice line dance; as a basic adult participant in modern line; dance in the adult section of the pattern partner division; and compete as an adult female participant in the pro-am classic couples division.
  • Thomas Hughes will dance as a teen male participant in the novice line dance division; take part as a basic teen participant in modern line; compete as a newcomer teen in classic couples; and dance in the teen section of the pattern partner division.
  • Leatitia Keogh will dance as a silver female participant in intermediate line dance; take part in open intermediate line dance; take part as an ACE chrome participant in modern line; and dance as a siver female participant in the pro-am couples division.
  • Jo-Ann Dennis will take part as a teen female participant in the novice line dance division; as a basic teen participant in modern line; and as a newcomer teen participant in classic couples.
  • WJ Dennis will dance as an adult male participant in novice line dance; as a basic adult participant in modern line; and participate in the adult section of the pattern partner division.
  • Lorretta Rossouw will take part as a silver female participant in the intermediate line dance division and dance in the open intermediate line dance division.
