A gruesome murder took place in Kroonstad and the police are investigating the matter.
On Monday (03/07) the body of a resident of Borman Street in Wilgenhof, Kroonstad, was found with deep head wounds.
A family member of the resident (78), who was unable to locate them, called for help and asked an acquaintance to help investigate the resident’s home. On their arrival, they found that the burglar bars to a window was broken, and the door and security gate opened and damaged.
When the pair entered the house, they found the body of the resident on the couch with wounds to the head, and a hammer lying next to the body.
They immediately called the authorities, who declared the person dead at the scene.
“We are currently investigating a case of murder. Personal information is withheld because not all of the deceased’s next of kin have been notified yet,” says Sgt. Mahlomola Kareli, police spokeswoman.
