Seven foreign nationals have been arrested by the Ficksburg police for being in possession of several stolen items and unlicensed firearms.
The police arrested the suspects at a local tavern on Thursday, 25 January, for being in possession of unlicensed firearms, ammunition, housebreaking implements, and suspected stolen goods. A vehicle was also seized.
The police were made aware of the suspects when complaints were laid about a suspicious group at the gathering spot the previous night.
The suspects, aged between 29 and 43 years, appeared in the Ficksburg Magistrates’ Court on Friday. The case was postponed for further investigation.
