The body of Matsotsi Sana Senokothe (73) was found at the Moperi River near the Clocolan Golf Club after she had gone missing on Wednesday, 8 November.
Senokothe’s body was found at the river on Monday, 13 November, after the police had received information from the community about the body of an old woman that was lying between large rocks in the bushes. She had no visible injuries.
Senokothe was identified by her sister.
It is believed that the grandson of the deceased and his friends, including a foreign national who is a pastor in that area, were involved in her murder. The four are being charged with kidnapping, murder, and defeating the ends of justice.
They appeared before the Clocolan Magistrates’ Court and the case was postponed for further investigation.
