Entries for the Mediclinic Vista Eskom Athletic Club Free State Road Race, which will this year take place on 19 August, are open.
This women’s race run in Welkom celebrates 20 years.
The first 200 entries in any one of the 5 km or 10 km categories stand the chance to win one of the lucky draw prizes. Entries may be done from Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 17:00, at PKF Auditors (296 Stateway), Lezmin Computer (395 Stateway) or Sydney Cars (184 Jan Hofmeyer Road, Industrial Area) or enter on entryninja.com. Forms can be collected until 18 August. Online entries’ proof of payment is required.
The start and finish of the race is at the Mediclinic Welkom in Meulen Street. The race will be attempted over different distances:
- At 16:30 a 1,5 km fun race for those nine years and older starts. Participants in wheelchairs and those with disabilities are included over this distance. Participation costs R30 –helpers for the wheelchair race also pay R30.
- Also at 16:30, a 1,5 km fun walk, fun run and children’s race for those seven to 15 years old starts. Participation costs R30.
- The last race starting at 16:30 entails a 1,5 km masters fun walk and run for those older than 60 years. Participation costs R50.
- At 17:00 a 100 m toddler race or walk for children three to six years starts. It costs R30.
- At 18:00 it is time for the 5 km fun walk and run – women only – for participants 12 years and older. Participation costs R70.
- Finally, at 19:00, the 10 km open men’s and women’s race and walk for those 16 years and older starts. Participation costs R120 (includes temporary number at R70).
