Four suspects were linked to a business burglary in Ficksburg after the police had arrested them along the R26 road between Ficksburg and Bethlehem.
On Thursday, 5 October, at about 02:00, the police stopped a suspicious Nissan SUV vehicle with a Free State registration number and requested to search the vehicle. A grinder, large pliers, drill machine and screwdriver were found.
Among the people in the SUV were a police officer from Phuthaditjhaba. All four were arrested. Charges of being in the possession of housebreaking tools were laid against them and they appeared in the Ficksburg Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
They have also been linked to a case of business burglary in Ficksburg, in which a forced entry was gained on the weekend of 16 September and an undisclosed amount of cash stolen from a safe.
On this charge, the suspects appeared in the Ficksburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday for bail application.
