On Sunday, 1 December, the Miss Moqhaka pageant will be hosting the Miss Moqhaka World Aids Day netball and soccer charity tournament at the North High School sportsgrounds, in aid of World Aids Day.

The event is scheduled to start at 08:30 and all sports teams are invited to participate in this gathering for a worthy cause.

The entry fee is R20.

The Miss Moqhaka 2023 and 2024 charity winners, Tshegofatso Phele and Glenda Mahashe, together with Miss Moqhaka for 2024, Precious Maloka, and ambassador Kalsoom Ura-Ahamn have pulled together to arrange this tournament.

The event is in aid of children infected with or affected by HIV or Aids and seeks to present itself as an awareness campaign to embrace and commemorate those who have lost their lives and loved ones due to this epidemic.

“We are plan to raise funds for local charities, chosen by the girls themselves. As our motto explains, beauty with a purpose is exactly what the Miss Moqhaka non-profit company (NPC) is about; making a difference in the lives of the less fortunate by identifying specific needs. Each year, we pride ourselves in giving back to the community with the help of local organisations on board with us,” says Lerato Moholo, founder of Miss Moqhaka.

Forty teams have already entered for this event. The community of Kroonstad and surrounds are invited to add their support. For more information, call 072-080-6304.
