Three people died in a road accident between a truck and a light motor vehicle on the N1 in the Free State last week.
One of the victims have been confirmed as prominent musician Malome Vector.
On Wednesday, July 24, the authorities received a call to notify them of a serious accident on this route, near the small town of Koppies.
When they arrived at the scene, they discovered that the accident had involved a truck and a Datsun Go.
Apparently both vehicles had been traveling north when the accident happened, and the Datsun Go ended up under the trailer of the truck.
This impact killed three men who had been travelling in the car. Two other passengers, a man and a woman, were rushed to hospital for treatment. Only three of the five passengers had identification documents on their person, while the identity of the other two were not immediately known.
A case of culpable homicide has since been opened for investigation. Anyone with information on the accident can call the Koppies police on 082-466-7966, or the police crime line on 08600-10111.
